Reading and writing mail
The Reply Studio, where drafts wait, undo send, read receipts, and the footer.
The Reply Studio
Reply, forward, or press Compose on a mail frame and the studio floats over the board. Recipients autofill from your correspondence; the format bar bolds, lists and heads. The left rail is Drafter, the writing partner: ask for a pass — “shorter, friendlier, ask for the PO number” — then steer it. Drafter can also retarget a reply that came from a no-reply address to the real person behind it.
Attach files and images; paste a screenshot straight in.
Where drafts wait
- A draft you typed yourself saves to your Drafts folder, as always.
- A draft the AI touched goes to the AI Outbox, where it waits for your two taps.
Undo send
Every send — from the studio, the Outbox, anywhere — holds for five seconds with a visible undo. Catch the missing attachment, pull it back, fix it, send again.
Sent mail
A sent message shows up in your Sent frames the moment it leaves, and the thread’s reply state updates. Outgoing mail carries a small “Sent with Hedwig” footer, invisible while you write.
Read receipts
Optional (Settings → Mail & AI): sent mail shows a Read 3:42 pm badge when it is opened, or a fainter Delivered when it only reached the mailbox. Works for Gmail and Outlook sends; most reliable when recipients use Gmail.
Unsubscribe
The Subscriptions folder lists senders you can leave; ask Hedwig to unsubscribe you and it stages the unsubscribes for confirmation, like every other write.
