The frame editor
The infinite canvas behind the stage: draw frames, wire them, tidy, lock, zoom.
The frame editor is the board as a canvas with a camera. Everything from the stage is here at real coordinates, plus the things a canvas is for: drawing a frame exactly where you want it, wiring one frame into another, marquee selection, and free-floating cards.
Tools
| Key | Tool | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| V | Select | Click to select, drag on empty canvas for a marquee, Shift to add. |
| B | Bulk | Sweep rows across frames into one selection. |
| S | Sticky | Click to drop a note. |
| F | Frame | Draw a rectangle, then pick what lives inside: Mail, Calendar, To-dos, Document, Text, Upload, Datasheet, Import — and on team boards, Team frame or Team calendar. |
| T | Tidy | Lines up loose cards, stickies and piles. |
| L | Lock | Freezes frame geometry so nothing drags while you work inside frames. |
Placement tools revert to Select after one use.
Camera
- Pan: scroll, or hold Space and drag.
- Zoom: pinch, or ⌘+scroll. 0 fits the board. Zoomed far out, frames show large labels so the board reads as a map.
- Jump: press a frame’s number to fly to it; arrows walk the sequence.
Wires
Drag from a frame’s green grip into another frame’s source well to wire them: the second frame now reads the first. Reports run over their wires. On the stage the same wires show as ink lines when you click a frame.
Cards and piles live here
Drag an email out of a frame and it becomes a card you can park anywhere; sweep cards into piles. See Notes, piles and uploads.
Undo
⌘+Z undoes board changes — moves, resizes, creates, deletes. ⌘+Shift+Z redoes.
