Before I connect my main account: which OAuth scopes does Hedwig request, and is mail content used for anything besides showing me my inbox?

Hedwig requests Gmail read/send/modify scopes so the inbox, send, and tagging features work, plus Calendar scopes when you enable the calendar view.
Mail is processed to power your own inbox features (tags, search, drafts) — it is never used to train models and never shared. Disconnecting an account removes its local data.
